Selecting care for your eyes is an important decision
It can be confusing, we know. That's why we are here to help.
The three O's of eye care are:
- ophthalmology
- optometry
- opticianry
These three terms often confuse individuals. Below is a brief description of each specialist's fields:
- The ophthalmologist is a Doctor of Medicine (MD) who specializes in the structure, functions and diseases of the eyes.
- The optometrist is a Doctor of Optometry (OD) who specializes in examining the eyes for defects and faults of refraction, and prescribing correctional lenses and exercises.
- The optician specializes in reading prescriptions for visual correction, ordering the proper lenses and dispensing eyeglasses and contact lenses.
Combining value and professional family service
A myriad of changes are taking place in the optical industry. Our commitment to keeping current allows us to take full advantage of the marvelous improvements in design and materials of lenses and frames. The advancements in the industry have led to a wider selection of eyewear including
- lighter frames
- more durable frames
- thinner lenses coupled with computerized edging devices
These advancements help to offer you an ideal combination for superior design and optical performance. All edging is done on our premises, which allows for a more controlled, precise, and finished product.
